Downtown Aquarium in Houston TX

I just visited the Aquarium in Downtown Houston. I loved seeing all the colorful fish and reading about them. One of the stingrays I liked the most was the polka dot stingray. It was black with white polka dots. That's totally something I could have in my room as fashionable decor. I saw lots of Nemo's (clownfish) and Dory's (I don't know). I also saw a lionfish. They had lots of fins and things coming out of their body but I think the fins and stuff was there just to make predators think it was very powerful but the fins were really just there. I also saw piranhas. They are very beautiful and colorful fish but boy are they mean. They're just like sharks except a mini-version and much more colorful. I wish the brightness of them could reflect on their personalities and thoughts about eating. There was another great exhibit with a white Bengal tiger. When we got to the exhibit the tiger was sleeping and eventually woke up but didn't do anything but lift his head up and go right back to sleep. But we went back for a special show at 7:30 and the tiger was sleeping but went to a little area while a man put out some food so that the tiger would come out for the people to see her. I got a couple of good photos that I will post soon!

We also rode all the rides!! First Summer and I rode the Lighthouse Dive. It was a ride that went high in the air then you dropped. The whole time I was laughing because I constantly felt a tickle in my stomach.

Next I rode the Aquatic Carousel with Heath. That lasted for about 5 min then we got in line for the Diving Bell Ferris Wheel. The gondola we were in rocked a lot and it made lots of noises. It went really fast and I could really feel the breeze.

Last but not least we got on the Shark Voyage. It was like a 10 min. train ride with lots of surprises in the middle. When the train first started going they told you about how too many people are capturing them and using them for different purposes. Then we stopped and there was this huge tank and you could see all types of sharks. There was a Great White shark in the tank but it escaped in one of the floods they had. It's still missing though. Biologists checked the whole gulf of Mexico and the buffalo bayou near the aquarium. Along the way you would see people and you'd wave to them and they'd wave right back at you.

I will try to post as many pics as possible from the aquarium as soon as possible. Stay tuned for the pics!!!
